I have loved the morbidity and symbolism of the plague masks for several decades and now that I can paint and exercise my technical skills in these small pieces, I'll use this image grow and develop further. I love contrasting colors so this image has the stark blue in front of the vermillion and black in the background. I think it looks pretty neat and again, this has some mysticism to it. It's based on the real masks from the 1300s but it exists in another dimension from ours so the features are a little spooky and weird.
