This is heavily inspired and is an homage to the great 19th century engraver Gustav Dore. In one of his illustrations, he draws a cherub sitting on a pile of skulls and I decided to take the image and modernize it a bit. I colored it with the decaying brown that I saw when I entered the catacombs in Paris some years ago and I gave the cherub a gas mask and an AK47 rifle. This little guy is flying over you as you fight in the trenches against invaders and enemies of your cause.
